Coleraine DPP sponsors PSNI Street Briefing signs

COLERAINE District Policing Partnership and the local PSNI have jointly sponsored two Street Briefing signs for the Neighbourhood Policing Teams in the Coleraine area.

Street briefings allow residents to meet with their Neighbourhood Officers to discuss their problems or concerns about their area.

Robert McPherson, Chair of Coleraine DPP said: “The members of the District Policing Partnership are pleased to be able to jointly sponsor the Street Briefing signs for the local PSNI Neighbourhood teams.

“We would encourage everyone to attend the Street Briefing in your area – if we don’t know about it we can’t do anything to fix it.”

Chief Inspector Nicky Thompson, the PSNI’s Area Commander for Coleraine said: “Street Briefings allow us to bring policing to people’s doorsteps, and provide a good opportunity for residents to get to know their local officers, and to make us aware of the issues affecting their quality of life.

“The new signs will help to increase our visibility and will also provide a real focal point for residents who wish to speak to us when briefings are held in their area.

“We are working with all communities to deliver a personal, professional and protective policing service, and the more opportunities we have to engage with communities the safer our towns and villages will become.”
