Coleraine girl named ‘Miss Armoy’ 2014

Carly faced stiff competition from the other entrants, and is over the moon with winning the competition.

“I am delighted, I was really quite nervous and wasn’t too sure of my chances because there were so many beautiful girls that entered, but I am thrilled to be crowned Miss Armoy 2014.

“The RiverRidge Recycling Race of Legends was the most exciting part about the experience as I along with the sponsors was presenting the awards to all of the road racers, although trying to look good whilst the rain was pouring down was quite hard!” said Carly Black, Miss Armoy 2014.

Carly is 21, from Coleraine, and hopes that winning the competition could be the start of a modelling career for her: “Modelling has always been something I’ve been interested in, and winning Miss Armoy has really given me a confidence boost to pursue it further, especially as past winners include the current Miss Northern Ireland and Miss NW200.”

“I took a chance and entered because my dad, Davie Black, has been racing with the club since 2007, although this year was my first year attending the races. I really enjoyed the experience – the races were really exciting! I think I have gained an interest in road racing now, I’ll definitely be back next year. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the Club for the hard work they put in throughout the races, and for making everything go off without a hitch.”
