Coleraine graduate presented with national recycling award in London

THE Tiny Box Company picked up the prize for Small Business Recycler of the Year at the National Recycling Awards, held at the Hilton Hotel, London.

The company secured funding on the BBC’s Dragons Den in 2008 to grow its business selling recycled packaging and has since gone from strength to strength, supplying well known brands such as Google, Harrods and the Tate Galleries.

The award was collected by Alice Watkyn, Sales and Marketing Manager, who is a graduate of the University of Ulster, Coleraine and has lived in the Triangle area for the last five years.

The best recycling and waste management achievements in the UK were recognised at this year’s prestigious awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in London on July 15.

The event proved to be a fantastic evening with comedian, actor and writer, Hugh Dennis presenting the awards. Over 575 people came together from a multitude of industries to celebrate and recognise the best in recycling and waste management.

Paul Sanderson, Editor of MRW, enthused: “Winning a National Recycling Award is an amazing achievement. Every year the standard of entries gets higher and higher and it is becoming increasingly hard for judges to pick out a winner.

“My congratulations go to all of those who have won and the award is highly deserved. Those who were named as finalists should be really proud of their success too.”
