Coleraine Group raise over £45k for the Hospice

Coleraine Hospice Support Group have raised a staggering £45,575.44 for Northern Ireland Hospice this year, it’s been revealed.

The Group amassed the amazing total thanks to through their annual door collections, and many organised events over the past 12 months.

Despite the current challenging economic times, the fantastic fundraising will help provide hospice care in the Coleraine area and the Day Hospice operated through the Robinson Hospital.

The Group presented their cheque to Carol Thompson, Debbie McKnight and Lynda Cox of the North Coast Hospice Nursing Team.

On handing over the annual cheque, Ailna Smyth, Chair of the Group, expressed her gratitude to everyone for a magnificent effort.

She said: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts over the past year and everyone that has helped us to raise this great amount for the patients and their families.

“We are proud to support the Hospice and with the help and support of the local community we will hopefully continue to grow our fundraising total in the years to come.

“We would welcome anyone who would like to help fundraise for the charity and become a part of our Coleraine Hospice Support Group”.

NI Hospice Community Fundraiser John Phillips praised the members of the coleraine Group and said that the funds collected would support vital local services.

“This is an amazing donation from the Coleraine Support Group and demonstrates their continuous hard work and commitment.

“We are very grateful for all their support towards the North Coast Hospice Nursing Team.

“This money will go a long way towards providing care and support for local patients in the Coleraine area.

The Group is seeking new volunteers from the greater Coleraine area to help them to continue fundraising for the Hospice.
