Coleraine has something for everyone this festive season

COLERAINE Borough Council has produced a comprehensive advent calendar of events detailing activity within the town centre right up to Christmas Eve.

The highlight of the festive season as always is the Coleraine Christmas lights switch on which is this Friday, November 30.

The fun starts at 6pm with the parade through the town supported by music and entertainment throughout the evening.

 Coleraine retailers have been working hard to offer shoppers exciting and new gifts for the Christmas season as well as putting together some great discounts and offers right up until Christmas Eve. 

Coleraine town centre stores have great brands to offer – more than many shoppers realise. A recent survey noted that there are over 500 well known brands in 20 of surveyed shops. There really is something for everyone!

Santa will be in the Diamond Centre to meet all the boys and girls and the shopping centre has organised a range of activities including craft fairs and present wrapping along with late night shopping right throughout December. For further call 028 7032 1123.)

Whilst in Coleraine why not visit the array of both independent and national retailers located throughout the town centre who are all gearing up to bring great gifts and offers to shoppers.

Bonds Jewellers in Church Street are going to make someone very happy this Christmas with a chance to win £1,000 on Christmas Eve. 

Holley Optometrists are also getting into the festive spirit with discounts on prescription glasses and sunglasses so why not take the opportunity to sparkle with a style change for the Christmas party season.

The Causeway Speciality Market is on twice during December: Saturday, December 8 and Saturday, December 22, which gives everyone ample opportunity to get a unique Christmas gift for that someone special, such as custom made crafts and jewellery pieces.

From December 3, Coleraine’s Caring Caretaker, Davy Boyle, will be on his annual sit out for charity and all donations no matter how small are greatly appreciated.

Christmas shopping will be made easy in Coleraine town centre with shops open Sundays 1-6pm throughout December and late night opening to 9pm starting on December 6.

To make shopping more enjoyable a free park’n’ride bus service will operate every Saturday from the December 1, running every 15 minutes from 9.30am until 6pm, departing from Riverside Retail Park to the town centre. Pick ups and drops offs available at Riverside Retail Park, Coleraine Library and Coleraine Leisure Centre. 

With cheaper parking and the park’n’ride this puts extra spending power in shoppers pockets, so it pays to shop local this Christmas.
