Coleraine man fined for drinking on street

A COLERAINE man has been fined after he was found guilty of drinking alcohol in a public place.

North Antrim Magistrates' Court heard that police observed Gregory Bacon (37) of Buskin Way, drinking a can of lager in the Pates Lane area on June 24 despite there being signs prohibiting the drinking of alcohol in the area.

District Judge Paul Copeland fined Bacon 50 and ordered him to pay 86 costs.
