Coleraine mum has story published

Diane McKergan is now a published author after having her story - 'Does a Robot Wear A Nappy?' printed in a children's book.

Mum to Ben (4) and Calum (1), Diane is one of 11 winners in the national bath time story telling competition organised by Halos 'n' Horns, a range of shampoos and body washes for children.

"I regularly get emails from Bounty, the pregnancy and baby club, and one of the emails was about this competition, so I decided to enter," Diane told the Times.

"I wrote the story about potty training some time ago, when Calum was potty training.

"Both of the boys loved it and it really helped Calum at the time.

"I've always written little poems, at times when people are leaving work and things like that, but I have never had anything published before."

Diane's winning story has been illustrated by award-winning children's illustrator, Margaret Chamberlain.
