Coleraine support group for those bereaved by suicide

THE first meeting of the Coleraine Bereaved by Suicide Group will take place at the Sandel Centre on Tuesday, November 22.

The Bereaved by Suicide Project is an initiative put in place by the Northern Trust in recognition of the devastating effect suicide can have on family members and friends.

The project aims to generate awareness of the wide range of support organisations and individual counselling services available that people can turn to if they have been bereaved in this way.

The support group will meet the second last Tuesday of each month at The Sandel Centre, Newbridge Road, Coleraine. The group is open to all family and friends bereaved by suicide.

The project works in partnership with community and voluntary groups and through linking with The Patchwork Group in Coleraine it was able to secure funding from the Public Health Agency to hold 7 facilitated bereaved by suicide group support meetings in Coleraine.
