Coleraine Women's Institute meeting

The President, Joyce Jackson, welcomed members back after the summer break on Monday 5th September.

She asked members to observe a minutes silence following the sad news that member Kathleen Doherty had passed away.

Members chosen charity this year was the William Keowen Trust. A cheque was presented to Jennifer Smyth, member Willa Robinsons granddaughter, who has been awarded the Ironside Cup, Children of Courage Awards.

The President introduced six new members, Edele Hayes, Linda Browne, Ann Tomee, Laura Hutchinson, Sandra Lenox and Rayanne Lenox. The speakers for the evening were from Belle Isle Spa and House. Members were informed of the treatments and therapies available as well as the self catering accommodation available for private parties. Caroline Kimber gave the vote of thanks. The Birthday Girls where June, Barbara Garrett, July, Liz Busteed, August, Sandra Lenox and September, Maureen Moody.,The Monthly Competition, a favourite piece of jewellery 1st Isobel Kennedy, 2nd Angeline McNeill and 3rd Jennifer Hutchinson.

Following a lovely supper the evening ended with the a Country Women’s Song.
