Coleraine Young Farmers support B"thar Project in Africa

THIS year the chosen charity for Coleraine Young Farmers' Club is B"thar, in conjunction with the YFCU 80th anniversary celebrations.

The challenge for the YFCU members is to send 80 goats to Bthar’s projects in Africa to mark the 80 years of the YFCU.

Bthar was established in 1991 and raises funds to provide families in developing countries with the gift of a farm animal to establish micro-farming units.

Coleraine Young Farmers’ Club has raised funds through two different events to date.

Firstly their annual church service offering in November raised 280.

Then, last month, members sold Christmas Anagrams sheets which raised over 220. The winners were: 1st, George Lynne; 2nd, Margaret Loughlin; 3rd, Maxine Smyth. Congratulations to the winners and thanks are extended to all those who bought quiz sheets and gave donations.

Coleraine members are reminded of the next club meeting on Monday, January 18 where the boys and girls will be spilt up and go head to head in a ‘Battle of the Sexes’ competition. For more information please contact John 07845707705.
