Colin's 40 years' service with Translink

Newtownabbey man Colin Smith has received an award from Translink for his 40 years of service. Colin's employment commenced at the Duncrue Street depot as an apprentice. He worked there as a fitter until 1987 before moving to the engineering facility in Belfast. He now works at the Newtownabbey depot. Included: Don Watson. depot engineer, Translink's group chief executive, Chris Conway, Ian Buchanan, area engineer and Jana Rabikova.

In June 1990 Colin moved into the new Depot in Newtownabbey and is still working there. Colin is also on the Health and Safety Committee where he makes a valuable contribution.

It is so important to recognise these individuals who have given so many years’ dedicated service to Translink and Public Transport in N.I.
