Colin will be honoured at an exclusive gala event on the renowned SS Nomadic in Belfast on 01 December.

He said: “I take the classes but I’d admit I’m not the best swimmer in the world. I have run marathons, but swimming isn’t easy, and when you see these young people swimming, despite all their challenges, they are good.

“They’d put a lot of people to shame in the water! It’s about patience - for me and them. If I’ve had a bad day, being there will lift my spirits.”
