Collins pledges support after DVLA jobs losses

TUV council candidate for Coleraine Town Tommy Collins has pledged his support for Driver and Vehicle and Licencing Agency jobs.

“TUV long supported the retention of the Driver and Vehicle and Licencing Agency jobs at Coleraine with party leader Jim Allister raising the matter on a number of occasions,” he explained.

“These were strategically vital jobs in an area of the Province where we seldom see new job creation. How long has it been since into Coleraine or Ballymoney we have had an injection of jobs of any quantity? Yet now we the area has been robbed of 300 jobs for no justifiable reason.

“The people who work there have a reputation for going the second mile to help the public. This is a devastating blow to the workers and their families who still have their normal bills and mortgages to pay.”
