“These were funded by three local companies, David Norris Heating and Plumbing, Adrian Stewart Heating and Plumbing and Jumping Clay which requested this in place of their own company logo. We, as a club, felt that Macmillan would therefore be an excellent charity partner for this season and the gala dinner is the perfect opportunity to give something back to an organisation which do such tremendous work for those affected by cancer in our community.”

David Norris, who lost his wife Lynne, aged 30, to cancer in October 2013 and just 10 weeks after the birth of their daughter, Georgia, had no hesitation in financially supporting Macmillan Cancer Support having their logo emblazoned on the Carrick Rangers Colts shirts.

He explained: “Losing Lynne to cancer was absolutely devastating and we, as a family, will always be very grateful for the help and support offered by Macmillan.”

Carrick Rangers FC has also been supportive of the charity partnership. As well as a pitch-side advertising board, this weekend will see the team wear the Macmillan logo on the shorts of their “one off” Kit for the League Cup Final when they take on Ballymena United at Seaview.
