Come to MS day, urges Pat

People affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) in the Ballymoney and Ballycastle areas are being encouraged to attend Living with MS – a free information day run by the MS Society.

The event, which will take place on Saturday 12 September from 10am – 3pm at Ramada Plaza, Belfast is Northern Ireland’s biggest MS information day with more than 300 people expected to attend.

Brenda Maguire, MS Society, said: “We’re very excited that we’ll be joined by Professor Richard Reynolds, Director of the MS Tissue Bank – a world renowned research project which is making significant discoveries in what causes MS, why it progresses and how it may be stopped.”

Ballymoney MS campaigner Pat Crossley added: “Our aim is to bring together top researchers and real people affected by MS to provide help for now and hope for the future.

“Both of our guests speakers Catherine and Conor are living well with MS and we hope that their stories will inspire others who are recently diagnosed or living with the unpredictable effects of MS.

“And most importantly we hope this will be a fun and enjoyable event for people living with MS, carers, family and friends too with free complementary therapies available, free lunch and an opportunity to share experiences in a relaxed atmosphere”.

There will also be information stalls from organisations and businesses offering information and support. www.mssociety.org.uk/ni or email [email protected] or call 028 90 802 802.
