This event was organised by the Cairncastle Coastal Clergy Group, comprised of the four churches of Ballygally and Cairncastle.

Prayers were led by Fr. Dermot McKay, St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Ballygally, and members of Cairncastle Presbyterian Church.

Music was provided by “Harmony”, a young ensemble featuring two sets of twin cousins, Laura and Rachael O’Boyle and Michaela and Andrea Mulvenna as well as hymn singing by organist Derick Jenkins.

St. Patrick’s rector Rev. Roger Thompson said that approximately 40 members of the district’s four congregations were present. A collection for the local Kids 4 School charity raised the sum of £190.

The charity provides school books, uniforms and free school meals.

Rev. Thompson, who visited Tanzania and Kenya recently, gave an update on the charity’s progress.

“School leavers are now being trained to make uniforms,” he said.

He indicated that the next project is focusing on building a new school.
