Communities remember the fallen

On Sunday November 8 communities throughout Lisburn paused to remember the fallen of two world wars and subsequent conflicts.

Services were held in various locations in the city, with the largest services being held in Lisburn City Centre and Hillsborough.

In Lisburn a parade, led by the Young Defenders Flute Band, made its way from the Royal British Legion in Sackville Street to then War Memorial in Castle Street, where wreaths were laid.

The parade then made its way to First Lisburn Presbyterian Church for a religious service before returning through the city centre to the Royal British Legion,

A similar parade and service of remembrance was also held in Hillsborough, where the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Alexander Redpath, laid a wreath on behalf of the city.
