Community boosted in Glenmanus area

The Glenmanus estate in Portrush is being transformed thanks to the hard work of a group of residents.

Last week a new playpark was officially opened, much to the delight of the local children.

DUP councillor Mark Fielding, who attended the offical opening has commended the efforts of the local residents.

“Over the last couple of years since residents of Glenmanus Park formed an Residents Association, the community have been active in working with Council, councillors, the Police and other statutory agencies at bringing improvements to their locality.

“A new Bus shelter, new bins, a new play park have made huge differene to the estate.

“Progress is being made at improving drainage on the football green.”

Councillor Fielding added: “This would not have been possible but for the efforts of the local community with Glenmanus Residents Association.”

Constable Lamont of Portrush Neighbourhood team, who worked with outside agencies and the community on the improvement project in the estate added: “Police are delighted to have played a part in delivering this brilliant new facility for the community.”
