Community centre plans are progressing

Plans are progessing for the new Harryville Community Centre, local councillors have been informed.

At last week’s monthly meeting of council, Chief Executive Anne Donaghy advised that drawings have been finished by the architect and costings are due in.

Ms Donaghy added that considerations had been given to the Harryville residential area and access to the site.

“Council officers are working with the Harryville community,” Ms Donaghy said.

She added: “Officers have met with them and it’s been very positive; they have been very easy to work with in terms of moving forward.”

She informed councillors that the scheme will be a “phased approach” and a funding stream has been started.

“There is a strong commitment from the council for phase one of the scheme,” Ms Donaghy added.
