Community fears mount after knifepoint robbery in Ballymaguigan - McGlone

Speaking after a woman was robbed in her Ballymaguigan home on Tuesday morning, Mr McGlone revealed the victim was forced into a chair at knifepoint as they stole cash and jewellery.

“These criminals have demonstrated a complete lack of morality in their deception,” he said.

“I know the victim and her family well and the distress they must have caused by threatening her with a knife is despicable.”

“It is unfortunate that this woman’s good deed was rewarded in this way. I must impress upon everyone, particularly older people and people living alone, the importance of taking care when answering your door even during daylight hours.

“I have requested meeting with the police on this issue and I encourage anyone else who may have encountered these individuals to contact the nonemergency number on 101.”
