Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has been working closely with the community, voluntary and statutory sectors to develop a unique programme of events for the borough.

Speaking at the launch of the initiative, Mayor Cllr Billy Ashe commented: “Mid & East Antrim Borough Council is delighted to promote and embrace this year’s theme “One Place, Many People,” particularly in light of our new council boundary and the opportunity this presents for people from Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne.

“We want everyone in Mid and East Antrim to feel welcome, safe, respected and celebrated, and Community Relations Week is an excellent opportunity to celebrate all aspects of our culture and heritage, promote cultural diversity and work together to address sectarianism and racism. Council’s vision is “Working Together to Create a Better Future for All” and we hope events which run in Mid and East Antrim during Community Relations and Cultural Diversity Week will help to achieve this.”

A “One Place, Many People” networking event will be held in Larne Town Hall on October 1 from 7pm-9.30pm. Contact [email protected] or phone 028 2826 2458.
