Community Relations Week gets local backing
There are over 180 events taking place across Northern Ireland on the theme Expressing Identity Addressing Division.

Hide AdAmong events taking place is a ‘World Artists United’ evening at Gilford Community Hall on Friday, May 24 from 7pm-10pm.
It will feature an evening of folk and roots music and storytelling with musicians from around the world.

Hide AdOn Saturday, May 25, a bus trip to Derry-Londonderry has been organised under the theme ‘Understanding Our Past’.
Participants will take a guided walking tour of the city walls and Bogside murals, which will give an insight into our shared past, dispelling myths to encourage dialogue.

Hide AdAmongst those giving the week their backing were Independent Unionist MLA John McCallister who said, “Community Relations Week is all about building hope for the future, encouraging us to realise that community and voluntary organisations in partnership with government, can learn the skills necessary to build relationships and bridge division.”
