Company '˜will not pursue injunction' against Woodburn protestors

The company behind the controversial Woodburn Forest exploratory borehole project '˜will not pursue an injunction' to stop alleged trespassing and obstruction, according to Stop the Drill.

InfraStrata commenced proceedings against 10 people named on legal papers after a notice was issued for protesters to vacate the site earlier this week.

It follows the approval of the waste management plan for the scheme by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council on Monday night.

Speaking to the Times on Thursday afternoon, a member of Stop the Drill said: “They [InfraStrata] are not pursuing the injunction. There was not evidence to prove that we were causing an obstruction at the site.”

The hearing is set for review on March 18.
