Company wins double gold

Staff at Londonderry drinks company, Niche Drinks, were guilty of seeing double this week.

Their product, The Quiet Man, which is the first Irish whiskey to be bottled in Londonderry in almost 100 years, won two gold awards at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The titles the company took home double gold for were the drinks ‘The Quiet Man Traditional Irish Blend’ and ‘The Quiet Man Eight Year Old Single Malt’.

Since its introduction in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition has become the most respected and influential spirits competition in the world.

For drinks companies a San Francisco medal has come to represent the most reliable indication of spirits excellence. Spirits recognized as medal-worthy by the industry expert judges are understood around the world by both the trade and consumers to be the best the industry has to offer.

Ciaran Mulgrew, managing director of Niche Drinks was delighted with the awards.
