COMPETITION - Design a culture Duck

Hastings Hotels, Northern Ireland’s leading hotel group, of which the Everglades is a member, are famous for the little rubber ducks in their bathrooms.

From Titanic ducks to Rugby ducks, spa ducks to Love ducks and Christmas ducks, Hastings Hotels have created over 20 themed ducks over the last 15 years.

And now if you are a school child in Derry~Londonderry it is YOUR turn to design a duck.

The Everglades is seeking a City of Culture Duck – in short Mr (or Ms ) culture duck, and want your help to design it.

The winning duck will be in the Everglades bedrooms and throughout the city in 2013.

Open and closing dates

The competition will be launched on 12th march 2012 and entries will close at 5pm on Friday

20th April.

Winners will be contacted before the end of April.

Details

The competition is open for ages 4 – 18. There will be one winner and 2 runners up.

Entrants should design their duck on the blank page supplied, using both the City of Culture and Everglades logo and send their entries to Stephen Redden, General manager,

Everglades Hotel, Prehen Road, Derry ~ Londonderry, BT47 2NH

A prize will be awarded for the winning school and also to the winner, to his/her family and to

the 2 runners up.

Prizes

For the pupil - their Duck design being produced and displayed in The Everglades Hotel and an art set. For the School - £500 in Art vouchers

For the Pupils family - Meal for 2 adults and 2 children at the Everglades Hotel

Other Terms and conditions

The decision of the judges is final.

Only one entry per person allowed.

Entrants must be aged between 4 - 18 on 20th April 2012.

Entry forms that are incomplete or illegible will not be valid.

Entries close on Friday 20th April at 5pm – no entries will be received after that date and time.

The competition excludes immediate relatives of all Hastings Hotels Staff.

The winner must agree to have his/her photograph taken, name and area where they live used, school attended and agree to reasonable publicity after the prize giving.

For children under the age of 18 a parent/guardian must fill out the application form on their behalf.
