Concerns raised over Deer Park fly-tipping

A local TUV rep has raised concerns over fly-tipping at the former Deer Park Hotel site in Antrim.

Richard Cairns said that many people with fond memories of the hotel would be “saddened” by the state of the old entrance at the Dublin Road.

“Now, the derelict house which has sat for many years at the entrance has become a target for fly tippers,” he said.

He added: “Fly tippers have caused an eyesore.”

Mr Cairns added that having contacted Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, he welcomed their swift action to clean up the area and remove the accumulated rubbish.

“While this is a step in the right direction, the owners of the derelict building need to take responsibility,” Mr Cairns added.
