Concert boosts Sub Aqua Club funds

A play was held in Bushvale church hall on Friday last with all proceeds being donated to Dundalk Sub-Aqua Club who gave of ther time to help in the search for Stranocum teenager, James Elliott, after he fell into the River Bush last August.

Organiser, Jack Anderson, put on this play to show the community's appreciation for the work and commitment shown by the club during the tragedy.

A large audience was in attendance and enjoyed a three act play performed by Lisnamurrican Young Farmers Club

Prior to the play a plaque was presented by Mayor Frank Campbell to Tiernon Mallon (Dundalk Sub-Aqua Club).

The Mayor stated that the village of Stranocum and indeed Ballymoney Borough were most grateful for the help and experience that the Sub Aqua club had shown.

After the play Paddy Agnew and Finbar Dillon were invited on to the stage and were presented a cheque from Jack Anderson amounting to 1540.

Mr. Anderson stated that he was absolutely overwhelmed by the response and the amount collected and expressed his sincere thanks to everyboby that had helped him in organising the event.

Paddy and Finbar also thanked Jack for this huge donation and informed the audience that the money would be used to save lives all over the island of Ireland.

After the cheque presentation a further donation of 60 was given making the total 1600
