Residents have expressed their confusion as to who is going to repair the road after Transport NI said they were working with the ‘relevant landowner.’

A spokesperson for Department for Regional Development spokesperson told the MAIL: “Following heavy rainfall on Wednesday (8 Oct) evening a stream burst its banks and flowed off private land across the public road washing away a short length of the verge on the opposite side of the road.

“TransportNI was notified through their after-hours emergency call system and visited the site to assess the damage. The verge was coned off that evening but the road was able to be kept open to traffic. TransportNI is liaising with the relevant landowner to have the situation addressed. TransportNI will continue to monitor the road to ensure it remains safe to pass.”
