Congratulations and sympathy paid at council meeting

Those honoured in the New Year have been congratulated by the Mayor of Ballymoney, Councillor John Finlay.

At last week’s meeting of the council, the Mayor (pictured right) acknowledged the work of Barbara Blair, Cathy Glass and Mary McIntyre whose area as Chief Planning officer included Ballymoney .

At the same meeting, Cllr. Finlay also expressed sympathy on the death of Mr Dan Shorthall father of local Chief Inspector Brenda Cairns.

“We extend our deepest sympathy to her and her family,” the Mayor added.

The death of Kathleen Fulton was also commented upon by the Mayor.

He said she was a highly esteemed member of the Board of Governors at Balnamore Primary School as well as at Ballymoney High School.

“She did a great deal of work and we would like to extend our sympathy to the family,” the Mayor told the meeting.

His sentiments were echoed by Councillor Evelyne Robinson who described Mrs Fulton as a delightful lady who had gone to the same church.
