In his last Easter Vestry report last week the rector said it was another year when team life of the parish came to the fore whether that was in the day to day running of the parish or in any one of a number of a number of fundraising, social, spiritual and family events. Nothing just happened, leaders envisioned it, managers worked out the details and workers made it happen and cleaned up afterwards. There were some very memorable services where lives were touched by the God we worshipped.

“I am proud to report this year on the life as leader of the parish and wish you well as you strive into the next phase of the ministry of God,” he said.

Tributes to Mr Ferry were led by Rev Mervyn Peoples, the Co-ordinator of Pastoral Ministry. Gifts were handed over to the Ferry family by the choir, the bowling club, the ladies Guild, the Caring Association, Girl Guides, the youth and family worker and by the Select Vestry on behalf of the parish.
