Conor Mallon gave an intricate and spellbinding performance at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Derry,

He was declared the All-Ireland champion for 2013 and walked away with the Hugh Smith Perpetual Trophy.

The competition was very tough with entrants taking part from the United States of America, Canada, Scotland and from across Ireland.

Conor started his piping with the prestigious Armagh Pipers Club and won the inaugural Mark Donnelly Bursary Award to help develop the career of young Uilleann Pipers.

As a pipe and whistle tutor he is very committed to passing on the traditions and inspire a new generation of traditional musicians.

Conor was previously a member of the Lurgan Comhaltas and is now with the Keady Branch.

It’s been 22 years since the last Ulster Piper took home the All-Ireland title.

Conor is the son of Maura and Brendan Mallon, the grandson the late Donald and Ellen Lavery from Lurgan and of the late Charles James and Maureen Mallon from Keady.
