Consider yourself invited to Oliver! at the Forum

CONSIDER yourself invited to the Millennium Forum later this month where the Londonderry Musical Society will present the musical spectacular Oliver!, one of the best-loved family musicals of all time.

Guaranteed to be a treat for all ages, the production will bring to life Lionel Bart’s masterpiece. Based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel, this Tony-award winning show captivates children and adults alike with its wonderful characters, engaging storyline and memorable songs.

The musical first appeared almost 50 years ago and has remained popular with audiences ever since, recently being given a new lease of life by the BBC reality TV show, I’d Do Anything, and a triumphant West End revival.

The characters Fagin and the Artful Dodger are brought to life in this production by Keith Lynch and Dylan Reid, and loveable leading lady Nancy is performed by Margaret McPhillips. Nine-year old Mark Gallagher will play the role of Oliver.

The Society is renowned for showcasing the best talent the North West has to offer and this year will be no exception, with the cast being joined by an energetic group of budding young local stars. Director David Keown and Choreographer Venessa Chapman, joined this year by Maurice Kelly as Musical Director, will bring the show to life. It promises to be a bold, big-hearted production of this firm family favourite.

Tickets are now on sale at the Millennium Forum for the production which runs from Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th March 2010. Special rates are available for group bookings.
