Consultation events for plan

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has organised a series of community engagement sessions to give local communities the opportunity to shape a Community Plan for public services in the new Council area.

The engagement events will begin next week across the Council area.

The first event will be held on Monday 27th July in Dromara Hall from 7-9pm.

The second event will take place on Werdnesday 29th July in Hillsborough Village Community Centre from 7-9pm.

Further events will take place (all 7-9pm unless stated) in Glenaiden Centre, Glenavy (3rd August), Maghaberry Community Centre (4th August), Island Civic Centre (5th August 2-4pm and 7-9pm), Enler Centre (10th August), Bradford Court (12 August 2-4pm), Lough Moss (12th August), Drumbo Orange Hall (13th August)

The Council is keen that local residents and businesses attend at least one of these events to ensure citizen’s views are represented as the community planning process proceeds.

The planned community engagement sessions will cover areas such as the local economy, waste management, jobs, health, education, recreation/sports facilities, the natural environment, housing, planning and community safety.

Each of the 11 new councils is required to produce a ‘Community Plan’ relating to key public services in their local area.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has already engaged with many partner agencies, both those who will be on the statutory list of partners, such as the PSNI, the Fire and Rescue Service, the Health Trust and Sport NI; as well as support partners such as the South Eastern Regional College and Translink.
