Contamination issues resolved

PLANNERS have written to Derry City Council stating that approval has now been granted for the demolition of an exhibition centre at Maydown following the resolution of outstanding contamination issues at the site.

The application for the “demolition of existing exhibition centre and proposed extension to existing conference hall and associated site works” at the “Invista Complex, Maydown Works, Jetty Road, Derry” had been pending approval since a Planning Committee meeting in March.

Now the Divisional Planning Office has written to the Town Clerk advising the contamination issues have been resolved and approval granted.
