Cookstown business broadband upgrade welcomed
SDLP MLA for Mid Ulster, Patsy McGlone, has welcomed planned work by BT to improve broadband provision at Dungannon Road and the area close to Kilcronagh Business Park in the Cookstown area.
The Mid Ulster MLA met with BT representatives and local businesses last year to discuss problems with the broadband service in the area.
He said, “Local businesses in this area have been highlighting the poor service they have been receiving for some time. Last year I met with some of those businesses and BT to discuss the problems and to resolve the situation. The many businesses concerned employ large numbers of local people. They all rely on their broadband connection to do business, and they were being adversely affected by the slow speeds that they had been receiving. These companies were not expecting a ‘super-fast’ service, but reasonable broadband speeds that would cope with the demands of their day-to-day business.”
