Cookstown charity theft accused not in court
A Cookstown man accused of stealing money from a cancer charity has been given another chance to appear in court or face being arrested.
Mark Reeves’ solicitor handed a doctor’s letter to Dungannon Magistrates Court on Wednesday as an explanation for his non-appearance to answer a charge of theft, but District Judge, John Meehan, said: “He (defendant) needs to be here. This is a very serious matter. That (letter) is not good enough.”
Reeves, 57, must appear in court on March 11 or a bench warrant will issue, the court heard.
