Cookstown community rally together to raise £12k in memory of Jordan

A series of fundraising events in memory of teenager Jordan Scott have raised over £12,000 in aid of Epilepsy Action Northern Ireland.

The latest event, a charity raffle of a number of signed football shirts raised a tremendous £3,346 for the charity.

Jordan, tragically passed away suddenly in May this year and his family have been fundraising and trying to raise awareness in his memory.

Four football shirts including one signed by Jordan’s favourite team Liverpool FC were raffled off recently.

Kyle Wilson ,(a Manchester United fan) was the winner of the signed Liverpool shirt, pictured receiving it from Jordan's father Jonathan.

Other shirts included: a Northern Ireland shirt, local lad Stuart Dallas got his Brentford shirt signed and also a signed Sheffield United shirt.

Epilepsy Action NI hope to use some of the money raised from all the events held in memory of Jordan which is a fantastic £12,197.99, to educate children in schools and adults in the awareness of the condition.

Jordan’s father Jonathan, recalled an incident recently were Jordan’s friends were able to help a man suffering an epileptic seizure because of what they had learnt after Jordan’s sudden death.

“There was an incident with an adult at a local supermarket recently when a man took a epileptic seizure in the carpark and two of Jordan’s friends knew how to give the man first aid and aid his recovery,

“These kids knew what to do from the information given to them after Jordan’s death, so hopefully this money can help to raise more awareness,” said Jonathan.

He added: “We would like to personally thank the whole community of Northern Ireland for all their help and kind donations since Jordan’s death.”
