Appearing in the dock before East Tyrone Magistrates Court was Patrick Francis Kevin Gaynor (34) from Molesworth Street, Cookstown who stands charged with assaulting a woman on October 28.

Police under oath confirmed the charge could be connected.

A defence solicitor initially told the court his client’s address was no longer available to him to apply for bail, however it later transpired Gaynor had been released from a previous prison sentence on licence and as a result of the new allegation, this has been revoked. District Judge John Meehan ordered a remand in custody and Gaynor is to appear again by video-link on November 19.
