At Dungannon Magistrates Court, 32-year-old Emmet McKillion admitted burglary of staff changing rooms at the hospital on 12 July last year when he stole a purse and car keys.

McKillion, from Coagh Crescent, also pleaded guilty to a further offence of causing criminal damage to lockers.

When the charges were put to McKillion, he told the court clerk: “I would like to plead guilty”.

Asking for sentencing to be adjourned for probation presentence reports, defence barrister Aaron Thompson conceded the offences were “obviously very grave matters” given they related to thefts from a secure area of the hospital.

McKillion was arrested after cops seized CCTV footage.

Releasing McKillion on bail pending the completion of reports, District Judge John Meehan ordered the thief to come back to court on 4 March for sentencing.
