Around 2.20am they discovered two men fighting on James Street.

The defendant was one of the men and was observed punching and kicking at his opponent.

They were separated and Mr Curran was cautioned for the offence. It was noted that he was under the effect of alcohol.

A few minutes later both men were observed leaving the scene.

District Judge John Meehan adjourned the case for sentencing on March 21 when a Probation Board report could be assembled.
