Cookstown man facing trial over assault

A Cookstown man has been sent for trial on an assault charge, relating to an alleged incident over two years ago.

Barry Hughes, 31, of Greenvale Drive, is accused of assaulting Mark McAleese on September 26, 2014, causing him actual bodily harm.

Hughes was returned on personal bail of £300 for arraignment at Londonderry Crown Court on November 17 when he appeared at Magherafelt Magistrates Court.

District Judge Alan White acceded to an application for legal aid in respect of one counsel.
