The car was driven to Birmingham on his behalf before it was taken.

Mr Hamilton has been told that there will be no insurance payout because the vehicle was not under the custody or control of the policy holder.

The car is worth more than £75,000 when bought brand new.

He told ITV: “I had only owned it for six hours before it was stolen.

“The transport truck was not going as far as London on Monday, so I had the car driven up by somebody who I have used many times before.

“Whilst it was in the car park it was stolen.

“I have a truck that is ready to pick the car up and take it to Northern Ireland, but there is no car to pick up.

“The insurance policy is invalid because the car was not in my custody or control.

“I am obviously very anxious to get it back because I have spent all of this money and have been left with nothing.

“It is quite a rare car and I just hope that people may be able to help me if they see the car.

“There are not that many of these models on the road.”
