Cookstown man to stand trial over cannabis supply charges

A total of five charges relating to drugs and criminal property possession are to be heard at crown court.

Twenty-seven year old James Brian Doyle from Maloon Hill, Cookstown appeared at East Tyrone Magistrates Court for a preliminary enquiry during which he was returned for trial.

He stands accused of possessing cannabis and intending to supply on December 3 last, as well as three counts of possessing undisclosed criminal property at his own address and another in Ardboe.

A prosecutor submitted there is a prima facie case to answer which was agreed by District Judge John Meehan. He remanded Doyle on £200 bail and ordered him to sign weekly with police.

The case has been adjourned for arraignment at Dungannon Crown Court sitting on November 26.
