Police are appealing for anyone who help with their investigation to contact them on the 101 number.

Detectives said they believe locals “may have spotted” two men wearing balaclavas and camouflage jackets as they entered a house in Drumcree, just before the shooting at around 5.40pm (Sunday 5 June).

They also said the intruders, one of whom was armed with a handgun, threatened the occupants before shooting the 35-year-old male in both legs.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: “Incredibly this incident occurred in a busy residential area during daylight hours.
