And a short distance down the road, Coagh residents are also celebrating after the village was named as one of two ‘Most Improved’ locations in the country.

Mid Ulster MLA Ian McCrea offered his congratulations: “I would like to congratulate all those staff from the council as well as the residents and business owners for playing their part in keeping Cookstown clean and tidy.”

He added: “This award is something we can all be very proud of and sends out a clear message to those looking in that Cookstown is Looking Good, Looking Great and open for business.

“I also want to pay tribute to the residents and businesses of Coagh who received the Most Improved category award which is a worthy recognition.”
