Copper warning

Sergeant David Moore says there has been “a bit of an epidemic” of such thefts across Northern Ireland .

He was speaking after alluminium and copper was stolen from a shed at Drones Road near Armoy, which was reported on March 19.

On March 23, police received a report of a copper cylinder and copper piping being stolen from a house at Killymaddy Road in the Vow area near Ballymoney.

Sergeant Moore wants the public to report any suspicious activity, particularly involving vans are vehicles with trailers which could be used to carry away copper.

Goal poachers

CHILDREN’S metal football goalposts were stolen from the garden of a house during the day on March 22 at Donaghbrook Crescent, Ballymoney.

Oil stolen

HOME heating oil was stolen from a house in , Ballymoney. The report came in to police on March 24.

Police are appealing for the public to report any suspicious activity around houses.

Quad warning

THE PSNI in Ballymoney are warning that if young people cause annoyance on motorbikes or quads there could be a high price to pay.

Sergeant David Moore said: “Police would like to advise parents that police can seize motorbikes and quads which are being ridden on public land and causing annoyance to the public.

“On the first occasion a recorded warning will be given but on the second occasion the vehicle will be seized and the owner - the parent - will be responsible for all costs of recovery and storage.

“Failure to pay will result in the disposal of the vehicle.”
