Cora’s family say 550 thank yous to charity

A Coleraine family whose daughter was born with a heart condition held a charity fundraiser in aid of Children’s Heartbeat Trust.

The Lynn family organised a charity clay pigeon shoot and barbecue with friends and members of Coleraine Yacht Clubs raising £550 for local charity.

Their fantastic efforts were a thank you to the Heartbeat Trust who supported the family through little Cora’s condition.

Cora’s mum, Rhonda said: ““Children’s Heartbeat Trust is a worthwhile charity which supports parents and families of children who have been diagnosed with heart disease.

“The support they have offered us as a family has been amazing and we wanted to give something back and help other families who are going through a similar situation.”

Sarah Quinlan, Chief Executive of Children’s Heartbeat Trust said “We are extremely grateful to the Lynn Family for their recent fundraising which will help us to continue to provide support services for families in Northern Ireland.”

The Children’s Heartbeat Trust work closely with Clark Clinic which is the regional paediatric cardiac ward at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children to help fund medical equipment and initiatives, ensuring that children with heart disease in Northern Ireland receive the best care and treatment possible.

The charity also have family support groups across the province including one here in Coleraine. Each of these groups are parent-led and give families the chance to get together in a social, relaxed environment where they can meet with other local families facing similar challenges.
