Corner House bar raises £1000 for local community projects

TONY O'Hanlon and Shirley McKinley from The Corner House Bar in Cloughmills have handed over a cheque for £1,000 to the Cloughmills Community Action Team to help local projects in the village.

More than 150 people attended the recent BBQ organised so successfully by the Corner House to support the work of the village community action team and to taste some of the local food produced in the community garden beside The Corner House.

Patrick Frew, Chair of the Community Action Team received the cheque and said, “We would like to thank Tony and Shirley from The Corner House for kindly organising the evening and the local businesses who have been so generous in their sponsorship.

“Shirley put in a huge amount of work to make the evening such a success and we very much appreciate all her hard work. The money raised will enable the Community Action Team to continue to develop different projects around the village, such as the Incredible Edible Cloughmills project where we encourage young and old to grow more vegetables in the community garden beside the Corner House and become more involved in their local food production”.
