Corran IPS is in ‘urgent need’ of new buildings

Larne Deputy Mayor, Councillor Mark McKinty has expressed concern that the Education Minister has not included Corran Integrated Primary School in a list of schools to receive new buildings.

Outlining the need, the Ulster Unionist said: “I think the Minister has made a mistake in omitting Corran Integrated from the list, and I am deeply disappointed at his decision. I have written to the Minister to again impress on him the need for capital investment in the school, and to ask his officials to meet with school representatives as a matter of urgency”.

“Corran Integrated has been waiting on new buildings for a long time. The school’s mobile classrooms need to be replaced with permanent structures, an aspiration shared by staff, pupils, parents and the local community alike.

“This is a very well-run organisation, and investment is overdue and urgently needed for further progress,” Cllr McKinty added.
