Could you be a MindWise volunteer?

LOCAL mental health charity MindWise is constantly on the lookout for volunteers to help with our range of various programmes.

MindWise has more than 80 people volunteering in the Active 8 programme, all of whom have added enormous value to the organisation and without their support many of the activities and events would not be possible.

Volunteers, as well as benefiting from free training, also get the opportunity to practice and develop new skills and to build their confidence and their experiences can also help them with their further study or employment prospects.

Another way that you can assist Mindwise is to donate or help raise money.

A spokeswoman said, “MindWise is a charity, and like any other charity we rely on the good will and financial support of local people to help fund both our existing services and allow us to develop and pilot new ones. You can donate online directly through the MindWise website or by sending a cheque made payable to MindWise New Vision to our Head Office.

“MindWise also operate a charity shop in Rathfriland Street, Banbridge. We are always looking for donations of good quality items to sell in the shop including books, DVD’s, clothing, bric a brac and toys.”
